Causelist Court Fellows

A paid one-month fellowship, August 2026, for law students who are already at the Delhi High Court. You keep the live status of the courtrooms you already spend your day around updated on Causelist, and lawyers across Delhi rely on it. If you are at the court again after August, the fellowship can extend with you.

Causelist is a live courtroom status platform built by Rishabh Verma (final year, NLU Lucknow), backed by a grant from Emergent Ventures at George Mason University. See it at causelist.app.

The work

You cover the courtrooms you already spend your day around. Just 2 to 4 of them, the ones nearest where you already sit, so you are never asked to be anywhere you would not already be.

Twice a day while you are already there, about 15 minutes each: a quick check when courts assemble in the morning and another after lunch. In the app, you select one of eight fixed statuses for each courtroom. That is the entire act of reporting, one tap.

No writing, no research, no drafting, and nothing that pulls you out of your day. It fits alongside whatever already brings you to court: a clerkship, an internship, assisting a lawyer, or attending proceedings.

Procedural facts only. Fellows never comment on judges, parties, or cases, never share case details, and never take photographs or recordings. Nothing goes on social media. Updates appear on Causelist under your verified name, the same way practising lawyers already report.

Who should apply

Apply if

You are a law student who is physically at the Delhi High Court most working days in August, whatever brings you there, and you are reliable.

Don't apply if

You are not at DHC. This cannot be done remotely or from the cause list. Every status must come from someone standing there.

The one rule

Only record what you see. If you are not standing there, you do not report it. A lawyer somewhere is deciding whether to leave for court based on your update.
