Why it matters
Three questions a lawyer asks every morning.
Has the court taken up its board?
The lawyer in the room knows first. Everyone following that court knows seconds later.
How is the court progressing through the list?
Knowing a court's pace helps you plan a day with several listings.
Has your specific matter been called?
Save a matter and get an alert the moment its item number is posted.
How it works
Three steps, from courtroom to feed.
Tap what you see, from inside the courtroom
Court sitting. Lunch interval. Matter called. One tap, no typing, even on patchy signal.
Others confirm it
Others in the same court confirm it. Confirmed updates get a Verified badge; contradicted ones are suppressed.
Everyone outside sees it immediately
It appears live on the feed. Your colleague across town knows before they step out.
Posting is open only during court hours, 9 AM to 5:30 PM, Mon to Sat, and off on gazetted holidays.
Coverage
Delhi High Court and every major district complex.
Every district establishment across 7 Delhi complexes, plus all Delhi High Court benches.
Why invite-only
A feed full of guesses is worse than nothing.
Every update has to come from a lawyer in the room. We grow only as fast as we can vouch for new members, so access is by invitation for now.
Built by Rishabh Verma, NLU Lucknow '27, after watching lawyers burn whole mornings waiting for information that should have taken seconds to find.
Backed by a grant from Emergent Ventures at George Mason University (Tyler Cowen's programme).
Free · no account needed
Three tools, open to anyone.
No invite needed. They read the public record and hand it back usable.
Causelist Board
Every matter you are listed in on a date, across all Delhi district courts, with clashes flagged.
Causelist Case
A case number in. Every order read, a plain timeline, and what is still open on the file.
Causelist Brief
For people about to engage a lawyer: what the work is, how fees usually work, what to ask.
Board reads the cause lists as published. Case and Brief are AI-generated and not legal advice, so verify against the official file. Free, with a daily limit.
Common questions
Three things lawyers usually ask first.
Isn't this just a WhatsApp group? +
WhatsApp groups go stale fast. Messages get buried, and nobody can tell what's the latest status of a courtroom at a glance. Causelist gives you a structured live status for every court you follow, plus a one-tap interface to post from inside the courtroom. No scrolling through 200 messages to find out whether Court 12 has assembled.
What if someone posts wrong information? +
Every update can be confirmed or contradicted by others in the same courtroom. Confirmed updates earn a Verified badge; contradicted ones are automatically suppressed. Because Causelist is invite-only and every member is vetted and identified, accountability is baked in. No anonymous posters.
Is my data shared with anyone? +
No. Causelist does not sell, share, or expose your data to third parties. Other members see only your name, role, and the updates you choose to post. You can permanently delete your account and all your data from inside the app at any time. Read the full privacy policy.
